As I have been well known as “The Queen of Drones”—Benefit Cosmetics reached out and asked me to direct a commercial for their new “Bad Gal Bang” Mascara.  The slogan for the mascara is that it gives you “Eyelashes so big, you can see them from outer space”, and Benefit wanted to see how I’d bring this concept to life.  I drew inspiration from one of my favorite videos; Charles and Ray Eames, The Powers of Ten, but chose to have the shoot filmed in an otherworldly landscape, in the dunes outside of California’s Death Valley. This was a full commercial shoot, with many dozens of people on location in the desert to bring my vision to life!
